I'm female, and my first roomy seemed cool at first. The first day I moved in I realized I'd made a big mistake, but I can't talk about that whole thing pending court action against him, so I'll tell you after I win!
The guy I'm living with now is a total freaking slob! Absolutely disgusting. I am the only one in 2 months who has cleaned the kitchen. He also collects the trash in the garage instead of paying the 5 bucks a month for the trash people to take it. I have found many spiders in this place, along with tons of spiderwebs. He never vaccuums. He uses my stuff without asking, and one day I come home and he puts a lock over the thermostat so I couldn't use it. He likes to freeze me out. Luckily I am moving out of this hell hole next week, and I tell you, guys are slobs and I am never rooming with them again! I learned my lesson, get your own place!

there is no one is perfect, we are only perfect in our own eyes. So the "perfect" roommie would be the one that has the same habit or similar to us. But definately, live alone if you can afford it. And never live with your landlord or landlady, lots of them need to go to hell
i am sad to hear about that, but i beleive you should not generalize
i have seen weird things ever since i started sharing but i have to say i am not an angel neither i am ......but it is give and take in everything
you are right get your own place, but the problem that i had was i got sick and tired living alone, so thought i would share and i guess i should say i was lucky until he showed his true colors after heavy drinking
so even though i am in the midst of extremely important exams yet i can not leave, i am under his mercy, so i stay away from him until i am done
it is not worth saving couple of hundreds, your peace of mind is what matters and it worth everything
lately i have been avoiding him as i knew it will get to the point where the police will call it self defence..so i sleep in school study in school and so on

Guys are slobs? Come on. My roommate takes the biggest dumps and she makes the bathroom smell like Dumbos house. Go into a mens restroom and then go into a womans restroom. Which on eis cleaner. You see, men don't throw tp on the floor when they are done. Men would have the decency to wash their hands after using the toilet as well. How many women do you know who go in, piss, wipe, then leave? Without washing their hands? Come on, you're a femenist slut.
Yeah guys can be dirty but I've seen some fairly untidy ladies in my day. bed rooms so full of dirty clothes you couldn't see the floor, or bed. dishes with leftovers under couches and bed...seriously, stop makeing such generalization.

The worst slob i ever lived with was a woman. The floor of her bedroom was COMPLETELY covered with plastic bags full of crap, except for a 1 foot path to her bed. The most uptight were guys. Meaningless differentiations!
Looking at apartments ads I cant believe the discrimination against men. Here's one more example. Next time any of you see a roomate ad that says "female preferred" just replace those words with "white people preferred" and consider how long that ad would be tolerated.
